Privacy notice

This page will set out what personal information the Payment Check collects, how it's used and stored, and how long uploaded contracts are kept. The final version will be published here before launch.

When you request an email copy, join a waiting list or send a message, we collect your name, email address and type of business. We store these details to handle your request. Requesting a results copy does not sign you up for marketing.

Who is responsible for your information?

The Legal Storyteller Ltd runs The Payment Check and decides how your information is used. You can use our contact form to ask about your information.

Your free copy and the Hub

The optional Hub box records your request to hear when The Legal Storyteller Hub opens. It is separate from requesting your free results and from saving answers for a paid review. Leaving it unticked does not affect your free results. You can withdraw this choice through our contact form.

Details entered for a free copy are held in this browser tab so they can be reused if you request a paid review notification. These tab details do not save your answers with your name and email address.

Choosing to save your answers

If you tick the saving box, we keep a separate copy of your answers and results with your details for a later paid review. This record expires six calendar months after you submit it and is deleted by a daily automatic check, within 24 hours of expiry. Leaving the box unticked does not stop you seeing or emailing your free results.

This choice is separate from the answers and progress stored under a random visitor ID for usage statistics, and the progress saved in your browser. The six-month rule applies to the opted-in saved copy, not to waiting-list records or other requests.

Services that handle information

Lovable provides the hosting, private data storage and managed email services that process information on our behalf. Your email provider also handles the copy delivered to your inbox. Authorised project collaborators may access information according to their permissions. Information is not publicly readable through the app. The free check calculates results without sending your answers to an AI service.

Lovable lists its service providers through its official subprocessors page. This notice is still a draft: the full provider list, international transfer arrangements and retention periods for records other than saved answer copies must be confirmed before this notice is finalised. An emailed results copy is handled separately from any future AI-assisted paid contract review.
